Kicking it in London

Goodbyes have always been hard for me. But I have to say this time was the worst....for obvious reasons. I'm going to miss you all. But I want everyone to know that its not really goodbye. Its more like......see ya later.

All the flying and jet lag really made yesterday a really long and hard day. Not to mention that it took hours......HOURS, until my right ear finally popped from the change in elevation. But I didn't let any of this slow me down. When I got into London in the morning, I have to admit I was a little overwhelmed. I wandered around the airport for awhile trying to find my way to the subway, or the " tube" as they call it here. I finally arrived at my hostel around 10:30. After dropping off my bag and grabbing a few things I set off. I did something that I know I shouldn't have done. Something only a lazy person would do. I paid for a sightseeing tour around London. Because this was my first time alone in a foreign country I thought it would get me acquainted with the area and get a little background info. What was great about the tour is that you can get on the bus and get off anytime you want. So I took advantage of it and also used it like it were a taxi. (I wanted to get every penny out of this thing. Considering how much I spent. ) I stopped and saw lots of things. London is truly a beautiful city and I'm loving every minute of it. Some of the things I have seen so far are :
  • Tower of London
  • Tower bridge
  • Trafalger square
  • St. Paul's Cathedral
  • Westminster Abbey
  • Parliament and Big Ben
This is all that I can think of at the moment. I also did a lot of walking around London. After walking around for awhile yesterday I realized I really didn't care if I got lost. So that's what I did today, I walked from my hostel all over the place getting lost and checking out everything that I could.

Last night after a long and tiring day I decided that I need to get to bed early so that my head would stop pounding. Before going to bed I noticed that the hostel was doing a night club tour. So I did the most responsible thing that came to my mind...........ya damn right I went out! We ended up going to a few clubs, playing some games, and did some dancing. I even met some people from the states that were traveling around too. They gave me some good travel advice. I also learned that no one likes American money. That sucks!

So far so good here in London. My only complaints are that its crazy expensive and a lot of places close around 6 or 6:30. Coming here I thought that I would only stay for two nights. I've decided to stay another night because there's so much stuff I still wanna see. Then I think I will be heading to Amsterdam. But I will keep you all updated through this here blog. I love you guys and miss you all. Take care!

Haha... that's awesome pal. I did London in one day... rushing around like a jackass (I had a flight home the next day).

If you get the time, and you're a Family Guy fan (which, for some reason, I think you are) run a little dialogue to yourself in front of the parliament:

"Peter! What are you doing awake? It's 8.30 in the morning!"

"Thanks for the update Big Ben!"

Ah... no wonder I usually travel by myself...

Safe travels pal... and I'll see you in a few weeks.
