Danishes and Wooden Clogs

After already spending two nights here in Amsterdam, all I can really say is....WOW! I swear everything is backwards here in this country. The language is almost impossible. Most of the people that I have spoken with have been very kind. Helping me get to where I need to go and such.
The Dutch have a wide selection of foods, if your wondering. From Indonesian, Italian, Middle eastern, Chinese, Thai, I could keep on going. The deserts are all mouth watering. They make a lot of them out of waffles and crescent's(They really do love their crescent's.)
Bicycles are huge over here. I think that there are more bikes than cars here. They even have there own road lanes and traffic lights. It seems more friendlier. Maybe its because you don't hear as many horns. All you hear in the clang of the little bike bells. These bicyclers are dangerous sometimes, and you really have to pay attention. The first day walking around the downtown area I almost got run over by one. I mean seriously run over! These guys pretty much rule the road here.
There are hundreds of coffee shops here. I think that everyone of them sell the forbidden plant. Its so weird how laid back the Dutch are. Everywhere I go I can smell that musty aroma of marijuana. I guess what I'm saying is that the Dutch are all a bunch of potheads. They are also very laid back in other areas which I will not go into detail on. Whatever you have heard.........Its true! Or email me and I will go into detail.
The first night here I pretty much roamed the city on my own. No set plan just walked and got lost. The next day I met a couple of Brits that are here for the weekend. We met up later on and walked the city together. We started off the night by trying Indonesian food. Very satisfying meal. After that we went to a lot of bars and hung out and shot the shit. Pretty much comparing our two countries and we even dove into some football( soccer) talk. It was good to meet some other travelers my age to hang out with.
Today I tried to get to the Anne Frank house. After walking for maybe an hour, I finally found it......I was pissed. The wait looked like it would take another hour or two. It looked like the line for a theme park ride. One native told me that the house wasn't anything special. Apparently they remodeled the house and its just not the same. Bummer! But I did get to go to the Van Gogh Museum yesterday. That was a good time. But again it was very crowded and took awhile to get from one painting to the next.
I think its going to get crazy here today and tomorrow. Apparently there is a gay pride parade today or tomorrow. So now the streets are going to be flooded even more than they already are. But, I'm leaving tomorrow anyways, so its all good. I just booked my bus ride into Belgium and the hostel. I leave around 1ish and happy that I don't have to get on another plane. I would post up some pictures but its hard to find a cafe that will allow you to plug into their computers. But when I get a chance I will. I miss you all! Feel free to send me a line, I like to hear from you guys!

Be good over there, Meatwad-- no trafficking. I can't take time to spring you from a Belgian jail right now.
