Waffels and Chocolate
Hello from Belgium everyone! I have to say it was nice to stay on the ground this time when traveling from one country to the next. But I guess crossing borders isn't as serious as in the U.S. when your crossing to Canada. We didn't go through customs at all, nor did I when I went to London. Seems very easy and weird.
Anywho, after arriving here around dinner time on Saturday I was beat. I decided to hang around the hostel and have a couple drinks in the lounge and get to bed early. Just when I was about to go to bed, I met some fellow travelers, Theo, Stewart, and Rocky. Theo and Rocky were from the states and Stewart is from Austrailia. They all arrived the same day as I did and we all talked the night away until about 2 in the morning. We decided to meet the next day and travel around Brussels together. The next day we head off to the military museum. Very cool museum. They had alot of artifacts from mideval times up to WW2. The only thing that was a downer was that every description was in french. After that we decided to get lost in the city and just walk around get to know the area. There was a market area at the time selling various things. It was pretty packed for a Sunday. After all the walking we decided to get some food near the royal palace. Beautiful city by the way.
Today it was just me and Stewart. We walked all over the city. We even saw a flea market. We planned on going to a beach, but it turns out that its closed on Monday as are most of the museums. After that we tried Belgium waffels. We also had to try the chocolate. Wow, the people of Belgium don't mess around. Amazing! Although, I nearly had my head bitten off by the man in the chocolate store when I asked for something with peanut butter in it. I guess that was dumb, but hey, I'm no chocolate connoisseur.
Later on, me and Stewart decided to see a famous beer musuem. We took a tour through a historic brewery ( which is still used till this day!) It was very different than normal beer. Apparently this beer goes through a different fermentation. The fermentation is more natural and makes the beer naturally sweet. They also age this beer for 3 or 4 years and is served in a wine bottle. The beer was something like I've never tasted. It was sour and sweet at the same time.
Me and Stu finished off the night with a nice Turkish meal. Not sure what were going to do later but it will have to be something that deals with sitting. We walked alot today!
I've decided to stay another day here in Brussels so that I can see the museums I still wanna see. I will probably be trekking it tomorrow alone, as for Stu is heading to Bruge in the morning. There is a car museum in the morning thats calling my name. I think I will head to Paris on Wednesday. Not sure yet. I will try to keep everyone updated on that one.
I miss you all! If you guys have time, send me a line. I love to hear from everyone!

Dude, I'm glad you finally got my name right as Stu, rather than StEWart. Great to meet you, and I wish the best for your travels and hope Budapest is awesome.
And maybe one day you'll be able to finish the killer waffle!
Later, Stu
