Grüße aus Deutschland!

What can I say about Berlin? Great city ! Very modernized when you compare it to the rest of Europe. Modernized in the sense that Berlin doesn't have any really old and historic buildings. I'm not saying Berlin doesn't have any, but I guess you could say there rare. Reason being that the wars nearly annihilated everything. Its said that Berlin was hit with 75,000 tons of ammunition during WWII . Which is very sad. There are still some buildings that have huge gouges missing out them and lots of bullet holes. Germany really got there asses handed to them!
As you can see being in Berlin I have learned a lot more about WWII and I also learned much about the Cold War and East Berlin. Its hard to believe that the wall just fell. You can see that Berlin is still changing and starting to get over those tragic events. From what I've heard from people, Germany getting 3rd place in the world cup really got them out of a depression slump.
I did a lot of walking around the city. That was pretty much my first day. The next day, I found out about a "free walking tour" around Berlin. I have to say for a free tour I didn't expect it to be that good. Got my monies worth. I learned a lot from the guide. He was a young guy from England who's been traveling around. When he arrived in Berlin he decided to stay. I don't know how to do that. So this guy took us all over and went in depth of the history of Berlin straight from its origination. I was and still am very impressed.
I could go on forever on the things I've learned in Berlin, but I don't wanna bore you. The next few days I covered as much as I could. Including the tour, below is what I saw:

The Sachsenhausen Concentration camp and the new Holocaust Memorial/Museum were very moving and sad. Its still very hard to believe that this happened. The amount of people that lost there lives is obscene.
On a brighter note, Berlin is known for there nightlife, which I did up. I went on a pub crawl with a kid I met in my hostel. Mike from Long Island. Fun guy. The bars and clubs beat the hell out of chippewa. I wish we had a nightlife like Berlins.
So all in all, Berlin was great. I wish I could of stayed longer. I also wished I had time to do Munich. Right now im in my Hostel in Prague, Czech Republic. I will go into depth later on it. Im doing great and almost done hopping around here. I wish I could put some pictures up, but its hard when your on the road. I will put it all up when I get settled in Budapest. I miss you all!
